This exhibition highlights the work of Bernard Arin, typographer who taught for many years at the Scriptorium in Toulouse.
It returns to the great fundamentals of letter design and invites you to enter Bernard Arin’s studio to grasp the singular approach of a teaching that continues to resonate today through the work of many designers.
Concept
The concept is to show how the letters have been
created from real elements. We start from the Phoenician symbol deduced from an object, a form or an animal, and then it would follow the evolution of writing through time.
We start with the symbols of the Phoenician alphabet, down to letterforms created by Bernard Arin.
The letter passes through several aspects and
keeps on evolving.
